Title: Re: [World] hard water stains
Step one is to help them realize that hard water stain removal is NOT window cleaning, its glass restoration. Very few window cleaners "throw in" stain removal, unless they are doing it regularly, and have accounted for it in thier bid. Working cheap to get started may sound logical, but is likely to orient you toward deal-making people. Stay away from those who have no problem using you and your eagerness to profit themselves!! The high end market is much more stisfying, though harder to get into. If you spend all your time on cheap jobs, you will never get good ones....
As to suggestions- check window cleaningsupplies.com and look up hard water stain removers. Go with just paste formulas to start, stay away from acid... Try searching the archives on this board, too.

Subject: [World] hard water stains

Hi everyone, This site has been a BIG help to me, just getting started.  I
just did my first commercial job the other day, which I greatly
underestimated. I also did not realize how bad the hard water stains were.
After I cleaned the windows I told the client that I could not get the stains
off but I would be back to try to remove them. The woman was very nice, she
also said that the window cleaner that they had three years ago couldn't get
them off either. Any suggestions on how to get the stains off. She has
already paid me and is satisfied with the job, but I really would like to get
the stains off to help build my reputation plus she is a residential customer
with a lot of contacts.
