Certainly no one needs to convince Gary Mauer that networking is a good thing. Costs and pricing can be part of a discussion - and have been on this window cleaning discussion group for over 12 years.

My point would be that it is possible to go too far in discussing pricing, it is possible to restrain trade without even realizing it, and it can be helpful to be reminded of the pitfalls from time to time in a public discussion.

Sometimes the advice seems perfectly timed - like Steve Miller's advice a few years back, when we were talking about the size of phone book ads, after someone mentioned here that all the local window cleaners had agreed not to buy a yellow pages ad larger than a quarter page.  Steve pointed out that could be considered an illegal restraint of trade.

Other times the advice may be unwelcome, or doesn't seem to match the current circumstance - particularly in a discussion called "Motivating Employees -  but that doesn't make it bad advice.
