I have destroyed wasps and wild bees nests in the past. It is best to wait till night as they all go into the nest, then spray a power insecticide into the mouth of the nest. I use one i use on my tomato`s,the bees or wasps then pick up the insecticide on their bodies coming and going from the nest and killing all the bees.

Ole,

You may want to check out the info at www.beehiveremoval.com  or   www.allfloridabeeremoval.com

I Know you aren't in Florida, but this is good info anyway.  Bees can be very dangerous and what you can see may only be a minute part of what is really there.  I recently had a bee infestation and had to have the guys in the "space suits" come and literally vacuum then away.  There were thousands and thousands of them.

Bee very careful!

If it a really big nest, then you should suggest to the homeowner to contact a professional.  I recentally saw a TV program about a nest that extended WELL into the inside of the structure.  (I think it was on Dirty Jobs on Discovery....it wasnt about window cleaning, but a construction repair job, I think)

Ole,
I agree with Jim. But, I'd like to add that you should try to soak it down the day before you clean the windows. Not all of the bees will be in the nest or even in the area when you soak it. If it's a large nest, God help you if you destroy it and go up the ladder when their cousins come home.

Bee and wasp spray will shoot that far and it works good.  Soak it down and then maybe rinse the house with the garden hose.

Group,

I have a large job to do with a client that I do not want to give up.  The problem is a massive bee hive on a window about 20 feet up.  I am wondering what any of you would do. Should I try removing it? Spraying it? Are the professional companies I can refer to this person?

Thanks!
