So if I sell the customer the lights, the liability is somehow lowered?

The insurance is more, but selling lights instead of renting, leasing etc… lowers the liability somewhat.  Not to mention you don’t carry the burden of storing lights during the off season.

You should be able to buy a separate policy for this instead of rewriting you entire policy.

Those of you who do holiday lighting.

Are you carrying some sort of insurance policy to cover you in event of a fire or other accident involving the lights?

I talked to my insurance company and they would have to rewrite my entire policy to add holiday lighting.

The premium would be quite a bit higher as well.  Im just thinking that the insurance limits would have to be much higher to cover a fire at someones home then what most of us are carrying now, even if it is 1mil./2mil.

Thanks,
